Teresa “Terre” A. Shanahan-Dunivan, 72 of Valparaiso, passed away on Wednesday, November 19, 2025.  She was born on February 10, 1953 in Buffalo, New York, the daughter of Paul J. and Carol (Fitzgerald) Shanahan.  A 1971 graduate of Valparaiso High School, Terre made her 35-year career as a manager for the family business, Carol’s Hallmark.  She was a member of Calvary Church of Valparaiso and very active in the Meridian Woods Community.  Terre had a lifetime love of nature, flowers, and animals and was known as an avid cook, baker, and artist. God gave Terre a huge heart full of love and kindness, and she joyfully dedicated her life to loving and serving her family and others with a relentless energy and passion. 

On August 28, 2012, Terre married Walter Dunivan who preceded her in death in 2017.  She is survived by her children, Sabrena (Steve Thurn) Markley and Garret (Julie) Markley; granddaughter, Emma Markley; great grandson, Charlie Boyer; special companion, Ron Blanco; and brother, John Shanahan.  Terre was also preceded in death by her parents and sister and brother-in-law, Karyn and Charles Stockwell.

A Celebration of Terre’s life will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Calvary Church of Valparaiso.
