Terry A. Sausman, 61 of Wanatah, IN, passed away Sunday, February 22, 2026. He was born November 11, 1964, in Gary, IN, to the late Terry D. Sausman and Janice S. (Zula) Sausman. Terry graduated from Valparaiso High School in 1983 and honorably served in the United States Navy from 1983-1990. He went on to make his career as a second-generation ironworker with Local 395. Terry was proud to be part of the lifetime ironworker brotherhood, which he shared with his own father and brother. In his younger years, Terry liked to go skiing. Lately, he was very active as a member of the Wanatah American Legion Post 403, where he served on the Color Guard, called the bingo numbers, and hung out with his buddies enjoying a cold one.
On April 26, 1995, in Valparaiso, Terry married Linda Louderback, who survives, along with their daughter whom Terry loved dearly, Casey Sausman of Alcoa, TN; brother, Todd (Jaclyn Blitzstein) Sausman; sister, Robin (Chris) Moore; and nephew, Bill Ogle.
A celebration of Terry’s life will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Wanatah American Legion Post 403. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Terry’s name to the Wanatah American Legion Post 403.
