Terry Lee Hughes, 68 of St. John, IN, passed away on Wednesday, December 27, 2023. He was born on November 10, 1955 in Rapid City, SD to JC and Clara (Kraus) Hughes and graduated from South Central High School in Union Mills, IN. He was a mechanical supervisor for NLMK Indiana in Portage and was a member of the American Legion Post 295. If you knew Terry, you knew he was an avid fan of fast cars, fast boats, and fast motorcycles. He enjoyed spending time in the solitude of the outdoors including activities such as fishing and hunting. His sense of humor and love he had for his family and friends was unmatched. He will be deeply missed.
On May 17, 2012 in Sevierville, TN, Terry married Sandra Meyer, who survives, along with daughter, Amy (Ryan) Blind; mother, Clara Hughes; siblings, Joe (Deb) Hughes and Patricia (Jim) Mandeville; parrot, Panama; beloved bulldog, Jax; and many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, JC Hughes.
Terry’s family would like to invite family and friends to a Celebrate of Life and luncheon on Saturday, January 20, 2024 from 2:00 – 5:00 PM at the American Legion Post 295, 710 Water Street Union Mills, IN 46382. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in his name.
