Thaddaus R. “Ted” Bruszewski, 90, of Hobart passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at Gabriel’s Home. He was born August 31, 1933, to Julius & Teresa (Naminski) Bruszewski and graduated from Wheeler High School. Ted made his career as a farmer in Union Township owning Little Creek Egg Farm which included 10,000 laying hens, while also working as a carpenter for over 30 years with Unicorn Builders which was founded by his son. A man of deep faith, Ted lived a quiet and simple life devoted to his family that was practiced under the premise that it was always better to see a sermon than to hear a sermon. Along those lines, Ted served as a volunteer firefighter for over 20 years with Deep River V.F.D. and enjoyed the days when he and Mark could drop a fishing line in the water for a little relaxation, especially when fishing for walleye.
On June 14, 1955, he married Janet J. Kacher who preceded him in death on April 7, 2016. Survivors include their children; Mark (Therese) Bruszewski of Valparaiso, Carol (Patrick) Davis of Texas & Beth (Steven) Cooley of Tennessee, his brother, Eugene (Elaine) Bruszewski, 8 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his parents, son, Bruce Bruszewski in 1974, stepmother, Josephine Bruszewski, and infant sister, Dolores Jean Bruszewski.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, June 11th from 10 am – 12 noon at Moeller Funeral Home, Valparaiso with funeral service beginning at 12:00 noon and burial to follow at Graceland Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Gabriel’s Home.

GUESTBOOK

Mark, Carol & Beth - Very sorry to hear of your dad's passing. One of my memories of Uncle Ted was his coming to my aid the morning of my bridal shower when the church had flooded because of a recent storm. He offered the use of the Deep River V.F.D. facility and the day was saved. He was always calm and had a good sense of humor, sometimes being the voice of reason at times. What a touching photo and tribute on this website. Hugs to you all. -Theresa Morgan

My prayers and condolences to the family. Uncle Ted was my Godfather. He gave me my first full adult Bible for Christmas, the inscription reading, 12-25-1974 To Tina From Uncle Ted May these words bring truth and understanding to you. They will quench your desire to follow the gospel way. This book has brought new life and understanding to my life. May it satisfy you as it did me. Love in Christ Ted B.
