Theodore Anthony Ulanowicz, Jr., 79 of Valparaiso, IN, passed away Thursday, July 18, 2024. He was born August 3, 1944, in Chicago, IL, to Theodore and Henrietta (Jenkinson) Ulanowicz, Sr. Ted graduated from Kelly High School in Chicago, and proudly served in the United States Air Force. He made his career at Bethlehem Steel for over 30 years as a Millwright, before retiring. Ted enjoyed playing on the bowling league with his wife, traveling, camping, CB Radio, and playing Pogo on Gamesite, where he was a member for almost 20 years. He was a hardworking man and an excellent provider for his family. Ted had a wonderful sense of humor and was great at cracking jokes. He will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Ted will be dearly missed.
On October 30, 1965, at St. Pancratius Catholic Church in Chicago, he married the love of his life, Donna Trudnos, who survives, along with their daughter, Catherine Ann (Brian) Rutheford of Union Mills, IN; grandchildren: Stanley Ulanowicz, Tristan Sutter, Christopher Smith, John Rutheford, Eric Rutheford, Tiffany Rutheford, and Karen Rutheford; great-grandchildren: Nova, Axel, and Cash; siblings: Rodney Ulanowicz and Vicky Cox; and sister-in-law, Valerie Artega. He was preceded in death by his father, Theodore Ulanowicz, Sr.; mother, Henrietta Kaufman; daughter, Karen Ulanowicz-Taylor; and brother, Stanley Ulanowicz.
A committal service will be held on Monday, July 22, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at the Angelcrest Mausoleum Chapel, 180 E. 600 N., Valparaiso, IN.
