Timothy Allen Schroeder, 71, of LaCrosse, Indiana passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Wednesday, November 1, 2023. He was born July 6, 1952, in Valparaiso to Lawrence & Vernette (Book) Schroeder and graduated from Valparaiso High School. Tim started his 50-year career as a truck driver with Ronald Bailey and Son Trucking and retired with the LaPorte County Highway Department.
On July 22, 1978, he married Cindee Lippelt, who survives along with their daughters; Sara (Josh) Rasmussen & Karlee (Jason) Carr, grandchildren; Oakley, Jayden, Justyn & Ryeland. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Tim was a lifelong member of the American Legion Post #403 in Wanatah where he loved being around friends and was an avid euchre player. Every Sunday, you could find him watching the Nascar races on tv. Tim also followed college basketball, especially the Indiana Hoosiers and Bobby Knight. He also loved to go fishing with his Dad and buddies in Minnesota. But what Tim loved the most was being around his grandchildren teaching them new things, driving them around on the golf cart giving honky honks to the semi’s that drove by, playing in the pool with them, and he always was ready to listen to the next story the kids had to tell him.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, November the 10th, 2023 from 3 – 7 pm at the American Legion Post #403 in Wanatah. Memorial donations may be made to LaCrosse Fire Dept. or American Legion Post #403.
