Virginia Lee Aubrey
September 4, 1945 – May 25, 2025
Virginia Lee Aubrey, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2025, in Indiana at the age of 79, with both of her sons by her side.
Born on September 4, 1945, in Pennsylvania to the late Carl and Mary Greene, Virginia grew up with her sisters, Charlene Loveless, Janet Davis, and Judy Sexton, and her nephew, Bob Greene. She married the love of her life, Dennis “Gene” Aubrey, in 1961. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with laughter, devotion, and family. Gene preceded her in death, as did her sisters, Charlene and Janet. Virginia is survived by her sons, Dennis Gene Aubrey Jr. (Donna) and Scott Aubrey (Phyllis); her cherished grandchildren: Kyle, Alexandra (Kyle), Jake, Quentin, and Shelby; great-grandchildren: Adalyn, Autumn, and Cohen; and her sister, Judy Sexton.
Virginia was known for her warm heart, quick wit, and sense of humor—especially her corny jokes that always brought a smile. She was the life of the party, always ready to dance and make others laugh. Her legendary cheesecake was a family favorite, and she took great pride in keeping a beautiful home and yard.
More than anything, Virginia loved her family deeply and found joy in spending time with her grandchildren. She was incredibly organized, full of love, and someone whose presence made others feel instantly at ease. Her spirit, kindness, and laughter will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
A celebration of Virginia’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you share a joke, dance in the kitchen, or make a cheesecake in her honor.
She loved deeply, lived joyfully, and leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter.
GUESTBOOK
You guys nailed it, she was all of what the obituary says and more, she was my aunt, my sister, and my second mom, a guidance counselor and family but most of all she was my friend. I will miss her dearly, (Thanks for always being there for me). -Bobby Greene
My condolences to Bud, Judy and family. I'll always remember her deep, raspy laugh after a tease or two.... She always seemed in an infectious"good mood". Rest easy Genny. -Jeff
