Wanda Renee Winkler Witkowski, 58 of Merrillville, passed away Saturday, April 1, 2023. She was born August 29, 1964, in Valparaiso, IN to Harold and Carlyn (Cannon) Winkler. Wanda graduated from Morgan Township High School. She made her career running a daycare out of her home. Wanda truly had a love for children, and a gift for caring for them. She attended church services at the Brickyard Nursing Home in Merrillville, where she lived. In her spare time, Wanda enjoyed researching genealogy and family ancestry. She will be remembered as a loving and caring woman, who will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Wanda is survived by her mother, Carlyn Winkler; brother, Wayne Winkler; sister, Anna Winkler; aunts: Kathleen Robertson and Sally (Joe) Spencer; and many loving uncles, cousins, and extended family members. She was preceded in death by her father, Harold Winkler; and grandparents: Melvin and Laura Cannon, and Lawrence and Orvilla Winkler.
A Celebration of Wanda’s life will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 13, 2023. At Mulberry Church, 207 S. Main Street, Kouts, IN 46347.
