Zachary Ross Brown, 26, of Wanatah, Indiana passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2024, as the result of an accident. He was born March 30, 1998, to Jeremy & Jill (Lehman) Brown, graduated from LaCrosse High School in 2016 and attended Ball State University. Zach was a union member of Laborers Local #81 in Valparaiso.
Zach was a gentle giant that everyone loved.  He was a hard worker with a heart of gold.  He would help anyone with anything and everything.  He loved his family & friends dearly and loved spending time with them.  One of his favorite things to do was have his nightly talks with Papa Moose with some Busch Lights. 
Zach will be so incredibly missed.  He gave the best hugs and always made everyone feel safe.  He loved his Dad and valued his advice. He loved his brother Mitchell and going to Bass Pro & other places with him.  He loved his Mom and always looked out for her, always leaving with “I love you mama!” He loved his animals especially his dog Cinder “Tiny Dog”.  He found the love of his life, Laura Dzur, and his time with her made him the happiest.
Survivors include Zachary’s parents, Jeremy & Jill Brown of Wanatah, brother, Mitchell Brown (Morgan Keen) of Wanatah, grandfather, Ross Lehman of Wanatah, grandmother, Joanne Brown of LaCrosse, Zach’s girlfriend, Laura Dzur of LaCrosse. His 2nd mom Aunt Jenny McCormick, of North Judson and cousins but more like siblings Andrew (Katie) McCormick, LaCrosse, Allison McCormick (Ryan Boss) and Alden McCormick & his Uncle Dale “Macadoo” McCormick, of LaCrosse. Uncle Todd Brown, of Knox, cousins Tyler, Taryn Taylor and  other loving family & friends. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Sherry Lehman and grandfather, Gerald Brown.
A visitation will be held Friday from 3 – 7 pm at Wanatah Funeral Chapel, 309 N. Main St., Wanatah, IN. A funeral service will be held Saturday 11:00 am at Wanatah Funeral Chapel with Pastor Melissa McGough officiating and cremation to follow at Angelcrest Crematory. A meal will follow at the American Legion Post #403 in Wanatah, where Zach was a SAL member.

I'm a 53 year member of local 81 was at the meeting when he was acknowledged for placing 1st in the state after making journeyman and seeing him there settling straight and proud a large proud presence didn't know him but you couldn't miss him so sorry for your loss. -Wayne Novak
