Zoher “Joe” Ziyad, 55 of Valparaiso, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 1, 2022. He was born May 2, 1967 in Chicago, Illinois to Enedina (Dos Santos) Stella. Joe worked as a Hotel Manager in Chicago for many years, and most recently at Opportunity Enterprises in Valparaiso, a career which was very rewarding for him. Joe cared deeply about the people around him and gave generously to those in need. He enjoyed doing puzzles and crafts, reading, watching movies, and spending time with his beloved family and friends. Joe attended New Song Fellowship in Valparaiso and had taught Sunday School in the past. Joe will be remembered for his outgoing personality, his ability to make friends easily, and his big heart. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Joe is survived by his mother, Enedina Stella of Valparaiso, IN; brother, Freddie Ziyad of Berwyn, IL; sisters: Gina Stella-Brumley (Danny Oldham) of Hammond, IN, Shihnaz and Faten Ziyad, both of Florida; nieces and nephews: Gianna, Isabella, Sophia, Jonathan, Jasmine, and Selene; and many extended family members and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family.
