Nulah M. Cain, 90, of Valparaiso passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 22, 2025. She was born March 18, 1934, in Garrett, IN to Henry & Inza (nee Pyatt) Zeider. Nulah’s career began as a reading tutor, then a Medical Manager with Kingwood Psychiatric Hospital, Receptionist with the VNA in Valparaiso, and finally Office Manager for Therapist, Lawrence Pincus. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church where she had been active in the prison ministry, Women’s Club, House & Garden Club and the Keenagers Club both at Lakes of the Four Seasons. Gardening, traveling, cooking and reading voraciously were her passions.
On November 3, 1951, she married Don Cain who preceded her in death in 2009. Survivors include their children, Daniel (Deborah) Cain of Washington & Sandra (Steven) Stanford of Valparaiso, sister, Janet Zeider of Garrett, IN, nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by two children: Brenda Bley & Douglas Cain, sister Janice and brother, William.
A private family celebration of Nulah’s life will be held in Garrett, IN later in the summer.
