Patricia Michelle Miller, 71 of Valparaiso, IN, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 21, 2024. She was born May 19, 1953, in Valparaiso, IN, to the late Robert and Phyllis (Davis) Taylo. Patty graduated from Kouts High School in 1971, and received her bachelor’s degree in education from Ball State University. She began her career as a teacher before starting a family and raising her sons. Later, Patty worked as a court reporter, and retired from Family Express as a sales associate. Patty enjoyed taking care of her house plants and flowers, gardening, and spending time with family. She had a quick wit about her, and a wonderful sense of humor. Patty loved her sons dearly and worked very hard to provide for them as they grew up. She will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife and mother, who will be dearly missed.
On October 14, 2010, Patty married James “Jim” Miller, who survives, along with her sons: Daniel Boits of Palmdale, CA and Christopher Boits of Houston, TX; stepdaughters: Kristin (Erik) Agle of Murrietta, CA and Lindsay (Robbie) Driver of Magnolia, TX; step-grandchildren: Ryan, Nathan, Travis, Lindsay, Robbie Jr., Alexus, and Dakota; and brother, Robert (Betty) Taylo of Michigan City, IN. She was preceded in death by sisters: Nancy Hansen and Cindy Boyde; and stepson, Chadwich Miller.
A visitation will be held on Monday, December 30, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Kosanke Funeral Home, 309 S. Main St., Kouts, IN, with a funeral service beginning at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso. Memorial donations may be made to the VNA of NWI.
