Robert L. Sloan, 92 of Valparaiso, IN, formerly of Bristol, PA, passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2025. He was born July 11, 1932, in Oakland, MD to the late Martha (Ferguson) Sloan. Robert made his career as a Welder with Stauffer Chemical Company in Pennsylvania for 30 years. He was a member of the Teamsters Union, and an active member of the Moose Lodge in Bristol, PA since 1978. Robert was an avid reader, who particularly enjoyed the Western and Sci Fi genres. He will be dearly missed.
On April 26, 1959, Robert married Grace Evans, who preceded him in death in 1981. Together they welcomed three children, who survive: Walter (Tracee) Sloan of Valparaiso, IN, Kathleen Ritter of Bristol, PA, and Roberta (Clifford) Kibler of Bensalem, PA. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren: Anthony Sloan, Kristen Musall, Nathan Sloan, Grace Ritter, Nick Kibler, and Kyle Kibler; and 2 great-grandchildren: Laura Musall and Bruce Musall. He was preceded in death by 2 sisters.
In honoring Robert’s wishes, following cremation, no services will be held.
