William H. Harbison, 90, of Valparaiso, passed away Monday, December 30, 2024. He was born April 21, 1934, in Hammond to Paris and Sylvia (Behrman) Harbison.  Bill graduated from Tolleston High School and married his high school sweetheart, Katherine Rudovich, on April 12, 1953. They enjoyed over 70 years of blissful marriage.

Bill earned his bachelor’s degree in engineering from Purdue University and made his career with the Anderson Company (ANCO) for many years as a Mechanical Engineer, achieving the title of Director of Research and Development. He enjoyed wood working, from the craftsmanship of violin making and fine furniture that will help keep him in our memories, to building multiple homes, double digit Kitchen remodels.  His hobbies included being a master apiarist, sausage maker, and Soapbox derby car builder.  Bill also enjoyed being with and supporting family and friends with whatever their personal endeavors were.

Survivors include sons: Mark Harbison and Vincent (Pamela) Harbison; grandsons: Garth (Diana) Harbison, Nathaniel Harbison, Joshua (Leah) Busch, and Matthew Busch; and many great grandchildren. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Paris and Sylvia Harbison; wife, Katherine Harbison; daughter, Ramona Busch; son, William Harbison II; daughter-in-law, Deanna Harbison; and sisters: Imogene and Laverne.

Visitation will be Monday, January 6, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Moeller Funeral Home, 104 Roosevelt Rd., Valparaiso, with a funeral service beginning at 1:00 p.m., Father Jacob Van Sickle officiating. Burial will follow at Angelcrest Cemetery, Valparaiso. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Protection of the Virgin Mary Orthodox Church or the American Cancer Society.
